1) What changes in the industry
created this new competition for power?
Texas Senate Bill 7 provided all retail customers with
the option to choose their power provider, effective on
January 1, 2002. This choice is similar to the choice
that telephone users have regarding their phone services.
2) How can PPS help me?
PPS offers guaranteed savings for electric cost compared
to the ‘Price to Beat’ alternative. There
is no need for you to spend your time finding a new REP,
communicating the historical load information to the providers,
communicating with the Electric Reliability Council of
Texas (ERCOT), identifying the most economical provider,
reviewing the terms and conditions of the REP contracts,
developing cost savings projections, tracking monthly
updates of savings for executive presentations, monitoring
market conditions for changes in market protocols and/
or tariffs that could negatively impact your business,
or monitoring market conditions for possible opportunities
to re- negotiate your contract with the REP.
With no cost to your organization, why wouldn’t
you have PPS provide these services?
PPS is YOUR representative. We represent you not the supplier
or their portfolio. We have a network of possible suppliers
(not just one) who will bid to provide your power. The
REPs we contact will know they will be competing with
others; thus, they will provide their most reasonable
bid. In the end, your company gets the finest services
at the most manageable rates. 3)
Who manages my account at PPS?
We are an organization of experienced utility and power
market experts with over 50 years of combined experience.
PPS is experienced in the industry; we know the ins and
outs of power brokering and we look after your interests
firsthand. 4) Why can’t
I choose my own REP?
The task of choosing a new REP and negotiating a new agreement
is very labor- intensive. Ask yourself.. Do you or someone
in your organization have the experience and time to be
able to:
- Identify the REPs
- Evaluate the terms and conditions in the REPs’
contracts
- Download historical usage from the TDSP and coordinate
the information with the REPs
- Evaluate the varied products available in the marketplace
today
- Evaluate power proposals and negotiate with the
REPs
If you answered NO to any of the above questions,
you need PPS.
5) Can I try your service before
making a commitment?
The entire process with PPS is much like a trial until
we get to an agreement with the REP of choice. After signing
with the REP, you have 3 days to change your mind. After
that, your contract terms would determine if there was
a test period. Overall, REPs are reluctant to provide
test periods since it becomes difficult for them to manage
highly customized contracts. However, there are different
contract durations that some REPs will provide and PPS
can negotiate to meet your particular needs.
6) How much does it cost?
There is no upfront cost to your organization. The cost
is built into the final agreement with the REP and the
REP pays PPS. Many have compared this arrangement to buying
a house when the seller pays the agent’s cost. We
do not get paid until you select a contract that you like.
In an effort to insure your long- term success, PPS not
only focuses on saving you money but also on incorporating
the most ideal terms and conditions into your contract.
7) What if I have a problem?
PPS is here for you. We do not abandon you once the contract
is signed with the REP. If problems arise, we will work
with you. 8) How do we
get started?
You can lower your power costs in three
easy steps…
- Call 281.296.9711 and sign
a Risk- Free Initial Agreement with PPS, authorizing
us to search for a superior REP agreement.
- Review the REP agreement secured
by PPS.
- Sign- up with new REP and
start saving money!
